Proofreader, CT
We have an opening for a Proofreader. This position is located in BLR’s Old Saybrook, CT office.

Responsibilities:

  • Proofread all print and electronic products according to set schedules and standards, with particular regard for clarity, consistency, punctuation, grammar, spelling, and syntax to ensure accuracy and application of BLR Style Guide
  • Use standard proofreading notations for proofing documents in print; use BLR-standard applications (eg Word’s track changes, Epic editor) for electronic proofing.
  • Use and help improve or refine established proofreading process to meet all deadlines and standards
  • Use and maintain proofreading log to track status of all BLR products
  • Identify and present to manager any process improvements
  • Work with entire CMS department to ensure accuracy before final printing
  • Participate on BLR Style Guide committee, including planning for regular Style Guide input and revisions
  • Work with editors or outside author(s) to clarify unclear content
  • Primary job functions often require exercising independent judgment

Production Editor, CT
Business and Legal Resources Inc., a leading publisher of Employment, Safety and Environment training and compliance solutions has an opportunity for a Production Editor to assist with the creation, management, and production of BLR Media materials and projects in a wide variety of publishing mediums.

Responsibilities:

  • Write, edit, format, repurpose, and process copy for a wide range of mediums, according to strict standards of quality, style, and voice, with a particular focus on e-newsletters, magazines, blogs, audio conferences, and webcasts, books, and web sites.
  • Manage products through the editorial and production process including sourcing material; editing and formatting; and shepherding through review, proofreading, and final production.
  • Establish and monitor workflow procedures.
  • Work with inside and outside writers and freelancers to ensure deadlines are maintained and that content received comports with BLR standards.

  • Organize projects such as running a roundtable or preparing, delivering and writing up a survey.
  • Travel, as needed, to both company-sponsored events and industry events, and represent the company in a professional fashion, including cultivating sources, answering or fielding questions about products, conducting industry research, and identifying partnership and growth opportunities.

Qualifications:

The Advertising Client Services Associate is an interdepartmental role responsible for interfacing with the sales team and clients to launch and maintain campaigns for all BLR Media brands. Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to campaign management internally and interface with clients about campaign progress and status

Sales Manager - Danvers, MA

The Sales Manager is expected to work effectively as part of the corporate account sales team and is knowledgeable in the areas of sales, relationship management, and client retention. This individual will build positive customer relationships and ensure client retention.
