Oregon Minimum Wage: What you need to know

You can find your state’s minimum wage rate and tip credit laws at http://hr.blr.com/state-comparison-charts/Updated-Minimum-Wage-Chart (OR Rev. Stat. Sec. 653.010et seq.).
The labor commissioner is required to annually adjust the minimum wage for inflation based on a rise in the U.S. City Average Consumer Price Index (CPI) for All Urban Consumers for All Items. The state's minimum wage law provides for adjustments that will increase the wage rate; therefore, a decrease in the CPI does not result in a decrease in the minimum wage rate.
Employers covered by both the state and federal minimum wage laws must follow the law that is more favorable to the employee and pay the more generous state rate. The state law covers all public and private employers, regardless of size.
