Child labor. Alabama law requires employers that employ any person under the age of 19 to post a printed notice, available from the Department of Labor, stating the maximum daily hours persons under age 19 are allowed to work on each day of the week (AL Code Sec. 25-8-38).
Coal mine safety. Coal mine operators must post a summary of the laws and regulations pertaining to coal mine safety. This summary is issued by the Department of Industrial Relations (AL Code Sec. 25-9-364).
Drug-free workplace. Employers that have established a drug-free workplace, as certified by the Workers Compensation Division of the Department of Industrial Relations, must post a notice of the employer's substance abuse testing policy on the premises. Copies of the policy must be made available for inspection by employees or applicants during regular business hours. Also, before testing, employees and job applicants must be given a onetime notice that contains the drug testing policy (AL Code Sec. 25-5-334).
