Hawaii Notices (Posting): What you need to know

Hawaii requires that employers post a number of notices in the workplace informing employees of their rights and obligations under certain employment laws. The posters must be placed conspicuously, permanently, and in enough places to be easily seen by employees as they enter and exit the facility.

The Department of Labor and Industrial Relations (DLIR) has created a consolidated poster that meets all of the state's posting requirements. The poster can be obtained by visiting http://labor.hawaii.gov.
Breastfeeding. Employers are required to display a notice detailing the rights of nursing mothers. A copy of the notice may be obtained from the Hawaii Department of Human Services at humanservices.hawaii.govHI Rev. Stat. Sec. 378.
Discrimination. Employers are required to display the Hawaii Civil Rights Commission poster notifying employees of the laws prohibiting discrimination in the workplace.
Dislocated Workers Act. Employers must post the Required Notice to Dislocated Workers/Plant Closings poster, which informs employees of their rights to notice before a mass layoff or plant closing and to apply for a dislocated worker allowance (HI Rev. Stat. Sec. 394B-1 et seq.).
Family Leave Law. Covered employers (those with 100 or more employees ) must notify employees in writing at the time of hire of their rights and responsibilities under the Family Leave Law. At a minimum, the notice must contain any requirement for the employee to furnish certification and the consequences of failing to do so; the employee's right to substitute accrued paid leave and whether the employer will require the substitution of any paid leave; any requirement for the employee to make premium payments to ...
