Illinois Notices (Posting): What you need to know

Illinois requires that all employers post several notices in the workplace informing employees of their rights and obligations under various employment laws. The notices must be placed conspicuously and in enough places to be easily seen by employees as they enter and exit the workplace and, in some cases, where they can be seen by applicants for employment as well.

Child labor. Illinois law requires that employers of minors post an abstract of the child labor law including a list of occupations prohibited to minors, in a conspicuous place. Also required is a schedule of each minor employee's starting and ending times of work, mealtimes, and the Department of Labor's toll-free telephone number. These posters are available from the Department of Labor (820 ILCS 205/5; IL Admin. Code Tit. 56 Sec. 250.815).
Day and Temporary Labor Services Act. Day and temporary labor service agencies must provide workers with an employment notice at the time of dispatch that describes the terms and conditions of their employment including the nature of work; wages that will be paid; the name, address, and location of where the work will be performed; terms of transportation; whether meals or equipment will be provided; and any costs associated with such meals and equipment. This notice must be on a form approved by the Department of Labor. Labor service agencies must also provide each worker with a wage notice at the time of payment that includes the name, address, and telephone number of each third-party client for whom work was performed; the number of hours worked by the laborer at each third-party client each day during the pay ...
