Nebraska Notices (Posting): What you need to know

Nebraska requires that employers post a number of notices informing workers of their rights and obligations under various employment laws. The notices must be placed conspicuously enough to be seen easily by employees as they enter or exit the workplace. Most of the state-mandated posters are available from the Nebraska Department of Labor's website, which may be accessed at the following link: http://dol.nebraska.gov/.

Child labor. Employers must post the names of all employees under the age of 16 near the main entrance of the building in which they are employed. Another such list must be kept on file. In addition, employers must post a notice of daily work hours, meal times, and starting and quitting times in every room in which minors under the age of 16 work (NE Rev. Stat. Sec. 48-302, Sec. 48-310).
Discrimination. A notice must be posted setting forth the provisions of the Fair Employment Practice Act. This notice is available from the Nebraska Equal Opportunity Commission (NE Rev. Stat. Sec. 48-1121).
E-Verify. State law requires certain employers to register and participate in the federal E-Verify work authorization program. Upon completion of E-Verify registration, covered employers must post a notice of E-Verify participation as well as a Right to Work poster distributed by the federal Office of Special Counsel. Both notices must be displayed in at least English and Spanish.
