Pennsylvania Notices (Posting): What you need to know

Pennsylvania requires that all employers post several notices in the workplace informing employees of their rights and obligations under various employment laws. The notices must be placed conspicuously and in enough places to be seen easily by employees as they enter and exit the workplace and, in some cases, where they can be seen by applicants for employment as well.

Apprentice training programs. Employers with apprentice training programs must post a list of the eligible pool of employees at least 30 days in advance of the earliest date for application for admission into the program (PA Admin. Code Tit. 34 Sec. 81.42).
Child labor. Employers with minor employees must post a summary of the state's child labor law, including prohibited occupations and hours of work allowed. This poster is available in Spanish for employers with Spanish-speaking employees. A list of the names, ages, maximum daily and weekly working hours, daily and weekly hours worked, starting and quitting times, and meal periods of all minors in the particular workforce must also be posted. (PA Stat. Tit. 43 Sec. 63; Tit. 24 Sec. 13-1394).
Discrimination. Employers, both public and private, must post a fair employment practices notice furnished by the Department of Labor and Industry. Employers with Spanish-speaking employees must post this notice in Spanish. The poster provides a summary of the Equal Pay Law and provides other pertinent information (PA Code Tit. 43 Sec. 336.7).
