Wisconsin Notices (Posting): What you need to know

Wisconsin requires that employers post a number of notices in the workplace informing employees of their rights and obligations under certain employment laws. The posters must be placed conspicuously, permanently, and in enough places to be easily seen by employees as they enter and exit the facility.

Child labor. All employers that employ minors must post “Hours and Times of Day Minors May Work in Wisconsin,” which informs employees about permitted maximum hours of work and times of day, prohibited and allowed occupations, and other work rules concerning child labor (WI Admin. Code Sec. DWD 270.03).

Cessation of healthcare benefits. Employers with 50 or more employees in Wisconsin that plan to discontinue healthcare benefits to current employees, retirees, and dependents of employees or retirees must provide the affected individuals with 60 days' advance notice and must display a notice, provided by the Department of Workplace Development, to that effect (WI Gen. Stat. Sec. 109.075).

Disabled workers. All employers operating under the special minimum wage program must post “Notice to Wisconsin Workers with Disabilities Paid at Special Minimum Wage,” which states that certain employees whose disabilities impair their work ability may be paid under a special minimum wage, and outlines the requirements of that minimum.
