Florida Advertising: What you need to know

The Florida Civil Rights Act prohibits an employer, labor organization, employment agency, or joint labor-management committee from printing or publishing (or causing to be printed or published) any notice or advertisement relating to employment, membership, classification, referral for employment, or apprenticeship or other training that indicates any preference, limitation, specification, or discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, absence of handicap, or marital status, unless that characteristic is a bona fide occupational qualification reasonably necessary for the performance of the particular employment. The Act covers employers with 15 or more employees (FL Stat. Sec. 760.10).
