Applicability: MS Reg., APC-S-2(I) and MS Reg., APC-S-2(XV)

Rules. Mississippi is authorized by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to administer its own air emissions permit program. Mississippi requires new and modified sources of air pollution to be permitted. A construction permit must be obtained before the modification of an existing source or installation of a new source begins, with major sources subject to the requirements of PSD. Facilities are also required to obtain a state permit to operate before beginning operations, with Title V sources subject to separate permit requirements and fees.
