Rules. Tennessee does not have its own pollution prevention (P2) rules. However, the federal P2 rules are effective in Tennessee.

Administration and enforcement. EPA's Region 4 office administers and enforces the federal P2 rules in Tennessee.

THE TENNESSEE GREEN STAR PARTNERSHIP (TGSP)

TDEC's TGSP is a free and voluntary environmental leadership program that recognizes organizations committed to sustainable practices and continuous improvement throughout their operation. The TGSP is open to all organizations that operate within the state. The TGSP provides opportunities for members to connect with other partners. Awards are given in recognition for advancing through the levels of partnership.

Partnership levels are as follows:

  • One-Star Partners. These partners commit to sustainable operations and plan proactive environmental policies, procedures, and educational efforts.
  • Two-Star Partners. These partners develop environmental programs and integrate environmental stewardship into their daily business operations.
  • Three-Star Partners. These partners implement an active environmental program and continually improve operations and achieve superior environmental performance.
