Comparison: State vs. Federal

· Rules. Nebraska was granted state program approval by EPA in 2002 to implement the federal UST program. The UST program also regulates leaking USTs. Nebraska UST rules include heating oil tanks, which are exempt under federal rules. Nebraska has adopted the federal secondary containment requirements and is in the process of developing operator training rules under the federal Energy Policy Act. ...
