• Rules. Utah follows the federal regulations for identifying and classifying hazardous waste, including the federal conditional exclusions from the definitions of solid and hazardous waste as they apply to cathode-ray tubes and solvent-contaminated wipes, the exclusion from the definition of solid waste for recycling certain hazardous secondary materials, and the hazardous waste exclusion for carbon dioxide streams in geologic sequestration activities.
• Administration and enforcement. The Utah Department of Environmental Quality's Division of Waste Management and Radiation Control administers and enforces the state's hazardous waste determination rules.
