· Rules. South Dakota has adopted by reference the federal hazardous waste storage rules, including those for on-site storage by generators. The state has some slightly more stringent provisions for hazardous waste storage tanks in connection with time periods relating to tank integrity assessment and secondary containment.

· Administration and enforcement. DENR administers and enforces the hazardous waste storage regulations in South Dakota.
