Rules. Texas has adopted the federal hazardous waste storage rules, including those for on-site storage by generators. Texas also requires generators to make an additional notification in the event of an emergency and requires storage facilities to comply with a general performance standard. See the state sections TSDF PERMITS and TSDF RESPONSIBILITIES for more information on fees and the storage facility performance standard.

Administration and enforcement. The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality's Office of Waste administers and enforces the hazardous waste storage rules in Texas.
