Comparison: State vs. Federal

Rules. Texas's rules for hazardous waste treatment, storage, and disposal facilities (TSDFs) include the federal rules and some more stringent state requirements in connection with monthly waste receipt summaries; contingency plans; facility design, construction, and operation; closure and post-closure; groundwater; corrective action; permits and fees, financial assurance, and the Texas general performance standard.

Administration and enforcement. TCEQ's Office of Compliance and Enforcement administers and enforces the TSDF requirements in Texas.

State Requirements


TSDF owners and operators must prepare and submit to TCEQ a monthly waste receipt summary for all hazardous waste or Class 1 waste shipments received at the facility. See the state section BIENNIAL REPORT for information.
