Arkansas has passed “Paul’s Law , which prohibits drivers from using handheld wireless devices to send or read text messages or other interactive communications while operating a vehicle (AR Code Sec. 27-51-1501et seq.).
Handheld wireless devices may be used to send messages in emergency situations. Emergency personnel are exempt from the law while performing official duties.
