Florida Homeworkers/ Telecommuting: What you need to know
The state government encourages telecommuting by all citizens as part of environmental and traffic-demand management and as part of emergency planning for natural and man-made disasters and pandemics.

The Department of Management Services's Human Resources Agency coordinates and manages the state employee telecommuting program (
FL Stat. Sec. 110.171(1)
). However, not all job positions are suitable for telecommuting, and not all employees are entitled to participate based on performance and conduct evaluations. Each agency determines which positions are eligible, establishes internal procedures, and must give equal consideration to employees in career service and exempt positions.
The state of Florida follows the federal Fair Labor Standards Act and requires that all citizens in an employer-employee relationship be paid in accordance with the Act.
