Wyoming Homeworkers/ Telecommuting: What you need to know

Under the state Personnel Rule for Telework, state agencies may utilize teleworking as a flexible scheduling option. Teleworking may also be used as a reasonable accommodation for employees with certain disabilities.

Participants in the telework program must sign a Memo of Understanding and are subject to all state of Wyoming Personnel Rules when working. Employees who telework must adhere to a designated work schedule and are expected to physically attend quarterly staff meetings.
Employees may telework from their homes, facilities owned or leased by the state, or other approved locations with approval of their supervisor.
Employees must use state-issued computers when conducting work on public records and/or restricted information unless they have been granted a special exception.
The state follows the federal Fair Labor Standards Act with regard to the compensation of homeworkers. Compensation questions should be directed to the U.S. Department of Labor's Casper office at 307-261-6242.
Employers of homeworkers in the state must obtain prior certification from the Department of Employment's Labor Standards Office. Certain types of homework are prohibited, including the making of jewelry using hazardous chemicals and the general manufacture of women's apparel for contractors.
