Hawaii Material Handling - General: What you need to know

Hawaii has adopted by reference the federal OSHA general industry regulations for material handling (cranes, slings, derricks, and forklifts) (HAR 12-73.1-2). No additional state requirements apply to general industry employers.

The Hawaii Department of Labor and Industrial Relations/Occupational Safety and Health Division (HIOSH) administers and enforces workplace safety and health rules for private and public sector workplaces in the state.
