Download NowThe state has a federally approved occupational safety and health regulatory program for public sector (state and local government) workplaces, and has adopted by reference the federal rules for injury and illness recordkeeping and retention of medical records in general industry (CT General Statutes 31-374-3). The federal requirements for reporting fatalities and multiple hospitalizations have also been adopted by reference.
The federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) administers and enforces occupational safety and health requirements in private sector workplaces. The Connecticut Department of Labor/Division of Occupational Safety and Health (CONN-OSHA) administers and enforces occupational safety and health requirements in public sector workplaces.
