Vermont Illness and Injuries: What you need to know

Vermont has adopted the federal recordkeeping requirements for work-related illness and injury reports and the maintenance of employee medical records in general industry workplaces by reference (VAR 24-050-016 and VAR 24-050-004).

Accident report hotline. Employers in Vermont must report fatalities or hospitalizations of three or more persons in an incident during normal working hours by calling the state VOSHA office at 800-287-2765, and off-hours by calling the federal 24-hour toll-free hotline at 800-321-6742.

The Vermont Department of Labor/Occupational Safety and Health Administration (VOSHA) administers and enforces safety and health rules for private and public sector workplaces in the state.
