July 03, 2008 -- Effective July 1, a revision of the "Business Security and Employee Privacy Act" (GA Stat. Sec. 16-11-113) goes into effect that allows licensed gun permit holders in Georgia to leave guns locked in their cars while at work, with certain provisions.
State Moves to 4-Day Workweek
July 02, 2008 -- Utah Governor Jon Huntsman is switching the state government to a 4-day, 10--hour workweek starting August 1, saying the new schedule will conserve energy, save money, and improve air quality.
EEOC Says Harassment Stemmed from Lyrics in Rap Music
July 02, 2008 -- A Silicon Valley manufacturer of semiconductor production equipment has agreed to pay $168,000 to settle a racial harassment and retaliation lawsuit brought by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the agency announced.
