Leadership Team

Rafael Cardoso

President, BLR

Rafael oversees editorial, marketing, sales, product development, partnerships, and acquisition strategy for BLR’s portfolio of business solutions, which is currently focused in the markets of human resources, legal, and EHS. BLR brands include HR Daily Advisor, EHS Daily Advisor, Thompson HR, Forum Events, and Navis Learning. Since joining BLR in 2007, Rafael has launched several digital and print media products, leading BLR’s venture into ad-supported media. Rafael received his Bachelor’s Degree from Salve Regina University.

Beth Greene

Vice President of Sales

Beth oversees sales-related functions and drives sales strategies that will generate demand, achieve revenue objectives and meet customer needs across all BLR product lines. She joined BLR in 2002. Previously, she managed various aspects of TrainingToday—BLR’s online training division—and has an extensive background in Human Resources management. She earned Bachelor’s Degrees in Political Science and in Public Relations from Middle Tennessee State University. 

Amy Wieman

Vice President of Marketing

Charged with developing and executing marketing strategy for BLR’s multimillion-dollar revenue streams comprised of product and services, events and media sponsorships, Amy and her team work closely with BLR sales team to generate quality leads and drive sales in the B2B space. Amy joined BLR in 2012.  Prior to joining the BLR team, Amy helmed the marketing department for one of Simplify Compliance’s healthcare brands, HealthLeaders Media.  HealthLeaders Media is a leading multi-platform publishing company meeting the business information needs of healthcare executives. Amy earned a degree in healthcare administration from the University of New Hampshire, and an MBA in marketing from the University of Massachusetts.

David Gomes

Vice President of Learning and Development

David has over twenty years of professional services and business consulting experience supporting corporate learning and development initiatives.   Areas of expertise include strategic L&D consulting, custom eLearning, video-based and classroom-based solutions. David has led teams of instructional design experts on designing, developing and delivering scalable learning solutions that are focused on increased performance and productivity for critical functional roles. His consultative approach of working with others builds trust and confidence with his teams and clients. Prior to joining Simplify Compliance, David was the founder and the CEO of Navis Learning, a leader in providing learning services to the corporate markets, as well as a number of other business ventures in the areas of professional services, technology and advertising.

Patricia M. Trainor

Vice President of Content & Product Development

Patricia has been with BLR since 2009. Before joining BLR, she represented employers and school districts in labor and employment matters in state and federal court before the EEOC the Illinois Human Rights Commission. She received her law degree magna cum laude from Loyola University Law School in Chicago and has a Master’s Degree in Mass Communication from San Diego State University. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy, graduating summa cum laude from the State University of New York at Brockport.  Patricia is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) by the national Human Resources Certification Institute. She is a member of the American Bar Association, the Connecticut Bar Association and the Illinois Bar Association, and she is admitted to practice in Connecticut and Illinois.

Jane Murphy

Director of Project Management

Jane spearheads BLR’s development team, focused on managing developers and overseeing various technical projects to streamline online processes and develop new product offerings.  Jane joined BLR in 2008.  She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics and Statistics from the University of Connecticut.

Paul Manko

Director of Media Sales

Paul is responsible for managing BLR’s ad-supported media sales efforts. Paul and his sales team offer advertising and lead generation solutions for HR, recruiting, benefits, training, safety and environmental providers looking to engage BLR’s audiences through sponsored programs ranging from white papers, e-blasts and website banner ads to webinars, surveys, videos, e-newsletters and live conference sponsorships. Paul joined BLR in 2012 and previously served as Territory Sales Manager for the online advertising company He earned his Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Connecticut, Storrs, and he also holds a Bachelor of Arts in English, with a concentration in writing, from Western Connecticut State University.
