Safety.BLR.com Launches Incident Manager

BLR Expands Partnership with MSDSonline to Help Employers Achieve A Zero-Incident Workplace Safety Record

Old Saybrook, CT—October 9, 2009. BLR®, the leading provider of employment, safety, and environmental compliance solutions, announced today that it has launched the Safety.BLR.com® Incident Manager. This latest addition to Safety.BLR.com represents an expansion of the partnership between BLR and Chicago-based MSDSonline®.

Safety.BLR.com Incident Manager is a Web-based solution designed to help safety professionals better identify, understand, and correct potential hazards in the workplace. By centralizing the processes of recording, tracking, and reporting injuries, illnesses, and incidents, Incident Manager helps streamline compliance with OSHA requirements, including those covered by OSHA National Emphasis Programs.

“Zero Incidents is the safety benchmark for which all companies strive, but it can be expensive and requires many processes to be put in place,” said Robert L. Brady, CEO and founder of BLR. “On top of those costs, employers must comply with an ever-increasing number of OSHA requirements. The Safety.BLR.com Incident Manager will do most of the work involved—earning its place as a valuable asset for employers.”

Safety.BLR.com Incident Manager features include:

  • Incident Case Creation Guide—a 4-step guide that identifies what information must be recorded to meet OSHA requirements. Its easy-to-use format guarantees incident case files are complete and accurate.
  • OSHA Report Generation—an application that uses information in the Incident Case to prepare OSHA Forms 300, 300A, and 301; Sharps Injury Logs; and First Notification Worksheets so there is no question that they are accurate and in compliance.
  • Trend Analytics & Reports—tracks and analyzes information in the Incident Case file and creates easy-to-read and distribute charts and exportable spreadsheets. Whether it is used by several managers or several locations, all tracking is performed in the single Web-based application. This prevents duplicate and lost information and eliminates the difficulties of sharing information.
  • Corrective Action Management Workflow—lets the user create and assign corrective actions for each case and set follow-up dates that can be automatically uploaded into the built-in SafetyCalendar or an Outlook calendar. Follow-up task reminders ensure that plans are followed through, minimizing the risk of recurring incidents.

The Safety.BLR.com Incident Manager can be purchased as an add-on subscription to the Safety.BLR.com safety compliance portal; it is the second application in the BLR-MSDSonline partnership. Also available as part of this partnership is the Easy MSDS Management add-on for unrestricted access to and management of Material Safety Data Sheets and Right-to-Know compliance requirements.
