BLR Green Team Recognized for Advocating Green Business Practices

Old Saybrook-based compliance information company receives 2010 Energy Innovation and Conservation Award for Advocacy from the Hartford Business Journal for its efforts in promoting sustainable business practices

Old Saybrook, CT, September 23, 2010—BLR®—Business & Legal Resources, the leading provider of employment, safety, and environmental compliance solutions, was recently named winner of the Hartford Business Journal Business Energy Summit’s 2010 Energy Innovation and Conservation Award for Advocacy. The Business Energy Awards were presented at the fifth annual Business Energy Summit.

The BLR Green Team was launched in February 2010 and is the first employee-driven group at the company to promote eco-awareness, implement sustainable business practices, and educate employees on conservation issues with the goal of reducing BLR’s ecological footprint and its overall costs. The group develops training materials and educational resources and information, including a blog, to share with employees, along with existing and potential customers, to encourage the implementation of green teams in the workplace.
