Each time an employee is paid, the employer must provide a check stub or pay voucher listing the rate of pay, hours worked, and all deductions from earnings.
Wages may be paid in cash or by check. Employers that pay their employees by check must provide for check cashing, without charge, at a bank or elsewhere convenient to the place of employment.
Direct deposit. Employees may also be paid by direct deposit in the financial institution of the employees' choice.
Stored value cards. Employees may elect to be paid by delivery to the employee by the employer of a stored value card that meets the following requirements:
• The card must be issued by a federally insured bank or credit union.
• The value of the funds underlying the card must be insured by the federal deposit insurance corporation or national credit union administration.
• The employer must have deposited with the card issuer funds in an amount at least equal to the wages due each employee whose wages are being paid through a stored value card and any account fees that are charged to the employer by the issuer.
