Kentucky Notices (Posting): What you need to know

Kentucky requires that all employers post several notices in the workplace informing employees of their rights and obligations under various employment laws. The notices must be placed conspicuously and in enough places to be seen easily by employees as they enter and exit the workplace and, in some cases, where the posters can be seen by applicants for employment as well.

Many notices and posters are available for download from the Kentucky Department of Workplace Standards at http://www.labor.ky.gov.
Child labor. Employers that have employees under the age of 18 must post a summary of the state's child labor law and a list of occupations prohibited to minors. A list of the minor workers' names, ages, addresses, time of beginning and ending work, and mealtime each day must be posted as well (KY Rev. Stat. Sec. 339.400).
Discrimination. Employers with two or more employees must keep an abstract or copy of the equal wage law posted in a conspicuous place on all work premises. Employers subject to the Kentucky Civil Rights Act must post a summary of its provisions as well (KY Rev. Stat. Sec. 337.433, Sec. 344.040). The Act covers employers with eight or more employees. Employers with 15 or more employees must post a disability discrimination poster. This poster is available from the Commission on Human Rights at http://kchr.ky.gov.
Health and safety. The state Occupational Safety and Health Department provides notices that must be posted informing employees of their rights and obligations under the state's occupational safety laws.
