Maine Notices (Posting): What you need to know

Maine requires that all employers post several notices in the workplace informing employees of their rights and obligations under various employment laws. The notices must be placed conspicuously and in enough places to be seen easily by employees as they enter and exit the workplace and, in some cases, where they can be seen by applicants for employment as well.

Child labor. Employers must post a notice summarizing the labor laws related to the employment of minors (ME Rev. Stat. Tit. 26 Sec. 42-B).
Discrimination. If required by the state upon a finding of discriminatory conduct, employers must post a summary of the Human Rights Act (ME Rev. Stat. Tit. 5 Sec. 4566). Employers may also voluntarily choose to display this poster.
Domestic violence. Employers may post an optional notice informing workers about Maine's labor laws relating to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking (ME Rev. Stat. Tit. 26 Sec. 850).
Equal pay. Employers may post an optional notice of the state's Equal Pay Law (ME Rev. Stat. Tit. 26 Sec. 628).
Public contracts. Each contractor and subcontractor must prominently post at the worksite a clear statement of all fair minimum wage and benefits rates and prevailing rates to be paid to the laborers, workers, and mechanics employed on public works projects (ME Rev. Stat. Tit. 26 Sec. 1310).
