Mississippi Notices (Posting): What you need to know

Mississippi requires that employers post several notices in the workplace informing workers of their rights and obligations under various employment laws. The notices must be placed conspicuously and in enough places to be seen easily by employees as they enter or exit the workplace and, in some cases, where they can be seen by applicants for employment.
Many of the required posters can be accessed at http://www.mdes.ms.gov.

Drug testing. Drug and alcohol testing is voluntary for employers, but an employer that requires testing must provide a written policy statement on the employer's drug testing program. Notice of this policy must be posted in a conspicuous location (MS Code Sec. 71-7-3; Miss. Admin. Code Rule 53.9.1). Department of Health regulations contain standard language for the notice of drug testing. The regulations can be accessed on the Department's website at http://www.msdh.state.ms.us.
E-Verify. State law requires employers to register and participate in the federal E-Verify work authorization program. Upon completion of E-Verify registration, covered employers must post a notice of E-Verify participation as well as a Right to Work poster distributed by the federal Office of Special Counsel. Both notices must be displayed in at least English and Spanish.
Both posters are available in multiple languages from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services at http://www.uscis.gov/e-verify.
Unemployment. All employers are required to post and conspicuously maintain, in places readily accessible to employees, printed posters relating to filing claims for benefits. These posters will be supplied by the commission to each employer without cost (MS Code Sec. 71-5-515).
