South Dakota Records: What you need to know

Covered employers. All employers with minor employees under the age of 16 are subject to the recordkeeping requirements.
Required. Employers have to keep a list of all minors under the age of 16 permitted to work (SD Code Sec. 60-12-5) and must maintain minors' permits and certificates.
To be retained. Permits and certificates must be retained for the duration of the minor's employment (SD Code Sec. 60-12-6).
Covered employers. All employers that own storage facilities containing hazardous or explosive materials are subject to the recordkeeping requirements.
Required. Owners of storage facilities containing hazardous or explosive materials must maintain shipping records of such materials present in the workplace and provide them to fire and/or law enforcement officials on demand (SD Code Sec. 49-28A-10).
Covered employers. All employers with more than 25 employees are subject to the recordkeeping requirements.
Required. Covered employers must make and maintain employee wage rates, job classifications, and other terms and conditions of employment.
