Employers are free to establish weekly, biweekly, or monthly paydays but must adhere to the schedule once it has been established. For weekly or biweekly paydays, wages must be paid on or before the 14th day following the work period in which they were earned. For monthly paydays, wages must be paid on or before the 1st day of the calendar month following the month in which they were earned (MI Stat. Sec. 408.472).
Employers without regular paydays must pay wages earned during the first 15 days of the month on or before the 1st day of the following month; wages earned during the last 15 days of the month must be paid on or before the 15th day of the following month.
Hand harvesters. Employees who work in any aspect of hand harvesting must be paid all wages earned in a week by the 2nd day of the following workweek but may agree in writing to a different schedule.
