State civil rights law prohibits all employers from using hiring practices that discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age (40 years of age and older), or disability (OK Stat. Tit. 25 Sec. 1101 et seq.).
The Oklahoma Anti-Discrimination Act prohibits employers from printing or publishing (or causing to be printed or published) any job advertisement or notice that indicates any preference, limitation, specification, or discrimination based on race, color, religion, national origin, creed, sex, age, disability, or genetic information, even when there is an imbalance in the workforce.However, religion, sex, or national origin may be mentioned if such specification is based on a bona fide occupational qualification (OK Stat. Tit. 25 Sec. 1101 OK Stat. Tit. 25 Sec. 1301, Sec. 1306).
