• Rules. The federal rules for the management of chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs), hydrochlorofluorocarbons, and other ozone-depleting substances are effective in Massachusetts, although the state has not incorporated the rules into its own regulations. In addition, Massachusetts has established regulations banning the presence of certain ozone-depleting compounds in consumer products. See the national section CFC MANAGEMENT for more information.
• Administration and enforcement. EPA administers and enforces the federal requirements for ozone-depleting substances in Massachusetts. DEP administers and enforces the state ban on certain ozone-depleting substances in consumer products.
CONSUMER PRODUCTS
No person may sell, supply, or manufacture for use in Massachusetts any consumer product that contains any of the following ozone-depleting compounds in quantities greater than 0.01 percent by weight of the product:
