• Rules. Montana has adopted the federal hazardous materials transportation regulations, with some modifications. See the state section HAZARDOUS MATERIALS TRANSPORTERS and the national section IMPORTS AND EXPORTS OF CHEMICALS for a summary of federal requirements. In addition, a security plan may be required by hazardous materials transporters. The plan must include an assessment of possible transportation security risks for hazmat shipments.
