• Rules. Oregon has adopted the federal hazardous materials transportation regulations, with additional reporting requirements. See the national sections HAZARDOUS MATERIALS TRANSPORTERS and IMPORTS AND EXPORTS OF CHEMICALS for a summary of federal requirements. In addition, a security plan may be required by hazardous materials transporters. The plan must include an assessment of possible transportation security risks for hazmat shipments. Internationally, a number of countries have developed or are developing laws with restrictions on the import of hazardous substances and electronic equipment that contains certain hazardous chemicals.
