Florida provides for additional penalties for certain violations of the federal hazardous materials regulations and for refusal to submit to compliance reviews. See the state section PENALTIES/LIABILITIES for information about state-specific penalties.

Administration and enforcement. FDOT's Motor Carrier Compliance Office enforces the federal regulations governing the transportation of hazardous materials on the state's highways. FHP and local enforcement agencies are also authorized to enforce the regulations if the situation presents itself.
