• Rules. The Louisiana brownfields program provides for the cleanup and redevelopment of numerous abandoned commercial and industrial sites contaminated with hazardous pollutants in the state. In order to encourage remediation of these idle and unproductive sites, DEQ has established procedures under VIRA to offer a level of liability protection and funding opportunities for entities and individuals who wish to redevelop these sites.
