Rules. Georgia has adopted by reference the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Hazardous Waste Generator Improvements Rule, effective on the federal level as of May 30, 2017, and effective in Georgia as of September 28, 2017. The federal requirements for containers of hazardous waste include empty container standards and organic air emissions standards. There are no additional state provisions.

Administration and enforcement. The Georgia Department of Natural Resources' (DNR) Land Protection Branch administers and enforces the container rules in Georgia.
