• Rules. The federal rules for hazardous waste containers are in effect in Iowa. Owners and operators of permitted containers are also responsible for meeting the treatment, storage, and disposal facility permit standards. See the state section TSDF PERMITS for more information.
• Administration and enforcement. EPA's Region 7 office enforces the container rules in Iowa. In fact, EPA enforces all of the RCRA hazardous waste management requirements because the state has not had EPA implementation authorization since 1985 and has no plans to apply for it in the near future.
