Comparison: State vs. Federal
• Rules. Ohio has adopted the federal corrective action regulations for hazardous and solid (nonhazardous) waste units, as well as the rules, revised by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in 2002, for CAMUs, TUs, and staging piles. The state's adoption of the 2002 CAMU rules includes the less stringent federal provision at OAC 3745-57-75 regarding placement of CAMU-eligible wastes in off-site hazardous waste landfills. See the national section CORRECTIVE ACTION to review the federal rules.
• Administration and enforcement. OEPA's Division of Hazardous Waste Management administers and enforces the corrective action requirements in Ohio.
