• Rules. Although the state has adopted the federal hazardous waste disposal rules, Connecticut's disposal capacity is severely limited because there are no hazardous waste landfills in the state. In addition, and in contrast to the federal rules, Connecticut prohibits the underground injection of hazardous waste.

• Administration and enforcement. DEEP's Engineering and Enforcement Division administers and enforces the hazardous waste disposal requirements in Connecticut.
