Comparison: State vs. Federal
• Rules. Oklahoma has adopted the federal hazardous waste regulations for generators and adds its own requirements regarding health and environmental protection standards, quarterly reports, disposal plans, manifest copies, CESQGs, and fees.
• Administration and enforcement. DEQ's Land Protection Division administers and enforces the rules for hazardous waste generators in Oklahoma.
Oklahoma follows the federal rules for generators storing hazardous waste on-site without a storage facility permit. See the state sections ACCUMULATION TIME and HAZARDOUS WASTE STORAGE for further guidance.
