Rules. Alabama has adopted the federal hazardous waste storage rules for permitted and interim-status treatment, storage, and disposal facilities (TSDFs). In addition, the state follows the federal requirements for generators accumulating hazardous waste on-site without a permit through its adoption of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Hazardous Waste Generator Improvements Rule, effective in Alabama as of April 6, 2018.
