• Rules. Georgia has adopted by reference the federal requirements for managing hazardous waste tanks, which include air emissions standards and standards applicable to owners and operators of hazardous waste treatment, storage, and disposal facilities (TSDFs). There are no additional state provisions.
Georgia has adopted by reference the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Hazardous Waste Generator Improvements Rule, effective on the federal level as of May 30, 2017, and effective in Georgia as of September 28, 2017, which includes standards for generators accumulating hazardous waste on-site in tanks.
• Administration and enforcement. The Georgia Department of Natural Resources' (DNR) Land Protection Branch administers and enforces Georgia's hazardous waste tank regulations.
