Oregon Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) Land Quality Division Hazardous Waste Program
· Rules. Oregon adopts by reference the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Hazardous Waste Generator Improvements Rule, effective in Oregon as of January 1, 2022, which includes standards for generators accumulating hazardous waste on-site in tanks. There are no additional state requirements for generators storing or treating hazardous waste in tanks. In addition, owners and operators of hazardous waste treatment, storage, and disposal facilities (TSDFs) that use hazardous waste tanks must comply with state permit application requirements and pay several state permit and facility fees.
· Administration and enforcement. The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality’s (DEQ) Land Quality Division administers and enforces the rules for hazardous waste tanks in Oregon.
