Comparison: State vs. Federal

· Rules. Oregon has adopted by reference the federal requirements for tanks that store or treat hazardous waste, including the federal organic air emissions standards. In addition, owners and operators of hazardous waste treatment, storage, and disposal facilities (TSDFs) that use hazardous waste tanks must comply with state permit application requirements and pay several state permit and facility fees. The state's more stringent permit standards and fees are reviewed in the state section TSDF PERMITS.

· Administration and enforcement. DEQ's Land Quality Division administers and enforces the rules for hazardous waste tanks in Oregon.
