Rules. Tennessee follows the federal requirements for tanks that store or treat hazardous waste. In addition, Tennessee requires owners and operators of hazardous waste treatment, storage, and disposal facilities (TSDFs) using tanks to pay various permit fees as well as an annual facility maintenance fee. Administration and enforcement. The state's hazardous waste tank requirements are administered and enforced by TDEC's Division of Solid and Hazardous Waste Management.
