• Rules. Connecticut's waste management rules include many of the federal Resource Conservation and Recovery Act's (RCRA) rules as well as more stringent state requirements for hazardous and solid (nonhazardous) waste management and USTs. Connecticut has received RCRA authorization from EPA. RCRA authorization allows DEP to administer and enforce the state's hazardous waste, solid (nonhazardous) waste, and UST management programs.
