• Rules. Utah's waste management rules include many of the federal Resource Conservation and Recovery Act's (RCRA) rules as well as more stringent state requirements for hazardous and solid (nonhazardous) waste management, and underground storage tanks (USTs). Utah has received RCRA authorization from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
