Rules. Missouri adopts by reference the federal surface impoundment rules, including the federal organic air emissions rules. There are no additional state regulations.

The treatment, storage, and disposal facilities (TSDFs) in Missouri that use surface impoundments must comply with additional state standards in connection with the permit application and fees. See the state section TSDF PERMITS to review these state requirements and fees.

Administration and enforcement. The Division of Environmental Quality of the Missouri Department of Natural Resources administers and enforces the surface impoundment rules in Missouri.
